Welcome to the Virtual Public Scoping Page

The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with assistance from Vernon, Monroe and La Crosse Counties of Wisconsin (project sponsors), are considering needs and potential improvements within the West Fork Kickapoo and Coon Creek Watersheds to achieve flood control and associated biological and recreational objectives in these watersheds.

An evaluation of potential project alternatives and associated environmental impacts is required to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations. The evaluation will be documented in the form of a Watershed Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (Plan-EIS).

These webpages are designed to provide a virtual overview of information presented on June 22 and 23, 2021 in the watersheds. These pages are to be considered supplemental, and are not a replacement for the live public meetings. We STRONGLY encourage you view the recorded meetings for further detail. The meetings were streamed live through Microsoft Teams and recorded for later viewing.
